Curator's Note
“In "La Nueva Tierra", Carlos Rodriguez continues his profound preoccupation with the male figure, distilling themes of vulnerability, identity, and utopian longing into a vision of primordial innocence. The composition is defined by its masterful flattening of forms and a terrestrial, sun-baked palette that bathes his subjects in an atmosphere of quiet, mythic intimacy. Echoing the naive modernism of Henri Rousseau and the structural bathers of Paul Cézanne, Rodriguez bridges classical figurative traditions with a distinctly contemporary, queer pastoral energy. As a coveted collectible, this limited edition print would thrive when nestled beneath a skylit staircase transition or elevating a narrow dining nook wall with its warm, terrestrial presence.”
