Curator's Note

Charlotte Ghaie’s 'Wife rising out of the ground (after Ken Kiff)' channels a surrealist tension through its raw texture and evocative use of soft pastel. The suggestive energy of the composition makes it a captivating focal point, perfect for anchoring a moody study or an eclectic gallery wall. Framed in rich Blackwood timber, this original work brings a profound, dreamlike narrative to any intimate space.

About the Artist

Charlotte Ghaie completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from Monash University in 2007, continuing her work and study in education and art therapy. Her practice is grounded in drawing, a therapeutic tool weaving together personal, cultural, historical and spiritual experiences. Ghaie’s figurative works cross temporal borders, exploring themes of family, relationships and identity, often with the experience of mothering and being mothered at its core. Charlotte has held solo exhibitions at Jan Murphy Gallery and Sunday Salon.
